Walmsley Surveyors Ltd is a specialist firm of Chartered Surveyors with local experience spanning over 30 years. We specialise in pre-purchase surveys of residential property in the Stamford and immediate villages, South Lincolnshire and Rutland areas and is regulated by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).

Whilst also undertaking surveys on modern houses, unlike many other regionally based surveyors we are particularly experienced in the inspection of much older historic buildings such as of a stone and slate or thatched construction prevalent in this area.  These may be 'Listed' Buildings or lie within Conservation Areas.  We are sympathetic to their unique needs of repairing solutions and the use of traditional materials and building skills.

The practice is completely independent and not associated with any bank, building society, estate agent or insurance company.  Tim Walmsley is one of a very few accredited (SAVA) Chartered Surveyors based locally to undertake RICS Homebuyer Surveys & Residential Valuations.  He is also a member of the Independent Surveyors Association and has recently qualified as a Home Inspector. 

Home buyers who do not commission a survey run a major risk of buying a house with significant defects.  These defects may require considerable immediate or future expenditure, or even render a property more difficult to sell.  Suddenly a modest investment in a survey becomes money very well spent.

Do you want to know about the repair and condition of the property that you may be purchasing?

If you are seeking a mortgage and already have paid for a Valuation Report this is prepared for the lender and not you the borrower.  You cannot therefore rely upon it to answer the questions that only a more detailed survey by a local surveyor will provide, it is therefore prudent to have a survey by your own independent surveyor.

The only way to be sure is to have an RICS HOMEBUYER Survey & Valuation Report or BUILDING SURVEY, both of which we can carry out in conjunction with a Mortgage Valuation Report for your lender, thereby making a saving on fees.

Obtain a HOMEBUYER Survey and Valuation Report and you can proceed with the knowledge of any major defects or what may require further investigations.

If the property you are thinking of buying is not appropriate for a HOMEBUYER Survey and Valuation Report, you may need a Building Survey.
