Established
in 1796, The Green
Man is just a short walk from
Stamford's town centre.
Once
a travellers' resting place,
The Green Man is now open
seven days a week and still offers
accommodation along with real
ales, bar snacks and meals from
a varied and interesting menu.
The
bar and lounge welcomes
visitors with a roaring log fire,
original oak beams and interesting collectables, while the garden is
perfect for summer days.
Twice
a year - at Easter and in
September - The Green Man holds a
Beer Festival which is popular with
real ale lovers and cider drinkers. The
festival is recognised by The Campaign
For Real Ale and is a showcase for real
ales and ciders produced nationally. As
well as the British favourites, a selection
of Belgian bottled beer is also available.
This
year The Green Man received
the Gold Award for the quality
of its ales. |
